Keeping the festive spirit alive, Dussehra was celebrated on 21 October 2023 by Rashtra Shakti Vidyalaya.
On 10th October 2024, our school organized a vibrant special assembly to celebrate the festivals of Navratri and Dussehra. This event was an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the cultural and spiritual significance of these festivals, which honor the victory of good over evil.
The assembly began with an auspicious Maa Durga Vandana performed by students from Classes 3 to 8, who invoked the blessings of Goddess Durga through a graceful prayer and dance. Following this, a Thought of the Day was shared, encouraging everyone to embrace the values of courage and righteousness.
Bhumi Tyagi of Class XI-Sci presented a speech on the Significance of Navratri and Dussehra, explaining the deep-rooted cultural and spiritual meanings of the festivals. She highlighted how Navratri is celebrated across India as a period of devotion and fasting, while Dussehra marks the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
Adding to the festive spirit, a group of students performed an energetic Garba Dance, capturing the joy and enthusiasm associated with Navratri. Their vibrant costumes and rhythmic moves showcased the traditional folk dance of Gujarat, bringing alive the essence of celebration.
The assembly continued with Maa Durga Stuti, a powerful devotional song dedicated to the Goddess, which further invoked feelings of reverence among the students and staff. This was followed by a Dance cum Act portraying the various forms of Devi, depicting her strength and compassion as she protects her devotees from evil forces. The enactment culminated with the legendary scene of Ravana Vadh, symbolizing the defeat of arrogance and evil, and sending a message of righteousness and integrity.
The assembly concluded with inspiring words from our esteemed Director Madam, who reminded us of the importance of upholding values of kindness, respect, and determination in our lives, drawing a parallel between these qualities and the teachings of Navratri and Dussehra. Her message left a lasting impression, inspiring students to embody these virtues in their daily lives.
The Navratri and Dussehra special assembly was a beautiful and insightful celebration, connecting students to the cultural heritage of these festivals and inspiring them to imbibe the values they represent.
