National Mathematics Day


A famous mathematician once said, “ Mathematics is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human spirit.”

December 22 was designated as National Mathematics Day (NMD) by Government of India in 1987. Since then this day is celebrated throughout the country with great enthusiasm. Rashtra Shakti Vidyalaya,too celebrates National Mathematics Day on 22nd December to commemorate the Birthday on Srinivasa Ramanujam.

The idea behind the celebration is  to give an opportunity to the students to enhance their numerical and thinking skills.

As part of the celebrations, quiz programme, poster cum slogan making competitions,  Rangoli competition on geometrical designs and talk on Mathematics were organized and conducted in classes Preschool to IX.Life story of Srinivasan Ramanujan in the form of visuals also shown to the students to know him better.

Hos Mam, Academic advisor Mam and other department teachers also appreciated the effort taken by the Mathematics department and congratulated all participants for their commendable performance.

The students participated in the above programmes along with a special assembly conducted with great zeal and enthusiasm and enjoyed the programmes.

Respected Director Mam Mrs. Shashi Tyagi  also graced the occasion and encouraged the students to participate in such activities in future as well.
