RSV Celebrates International Mandela Day with Compassion and Service

On the occasion of National Mandela Day, celebrated on Friday, 18th July 2025, Rashtra Shakti Vidyalaya took a heartfelt initiative to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela — a global icon of peace, humanity, and service.

A group of students from Classes 6 to 8, accompanied by teachers, visited the Nishulka Vridha Aashram and a home for specially-abled individuals located in Dwarka, New Delhi. Inspired by Mandela’s belief that “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others,” the students stepped forward to bring smiles and support to those in need.

The young changemakers raised funds through voluntary contributions and used the collected amount to distribute nutritious food to the elderly and differently-abled residents. They spent time interacting with them, listening to their stories, and offering respect and warmth.

This act of kindness not only made a difference in the lives of the beneficiaries but also left a lasting impact on the students. It was a living lesson in empathy, equality, and selfless service — values that Nelson Mandela stood for throughout his life.

Through this gesture, RSV students took a humble step in following Mandela’s footsteps, reaffirming the school’s commitment to shaping responsible and compassionate citizens of tomorrow.
