National Mathematics Day

A famous mathematician once said, “ Mathematics is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human spirit.”

National Mathematics Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Rashtri Shakti Vidyalaya, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great Indian mathematician SrinivasaRamanujan. The celebration aimed to promote interest in Mathematics and to help students understand mathematical concepts through joyful, activity-based learning. Students from Classes I to IX actively participated in a wide range of thoughtfully planned activities suited to their age and learning levels.

For the junior classes hybrid mode learning was provided involving parents and students both. Mathematics was made fun and engaging through art-integrated activities such as  Ice-Cream Craft, Calendar Making, Clock Activities, Kite Making(Tables), Fraction Plates, and Figure Me Out. These activities helped students grasp basic mathematical concepts through creativity and hands-on learning. A special Mathematics Magic Show was organized for the junior classes, which created excitement and curiosity among the students and helped them understand mathematical tricks and logical thinking in an entertaining way.

For the middle and senior classes, students participated in challenging and skill-based activities like Mathematical Puzzles, Money Transaction Games, Algebraic Expression Wall Hangings, Passing the Sum, Mathematical Relay, Mathematical Chair, and Mathematical Sudoku. An exhibition of projects for Classes VI to IX was organized  in their respective classrooms, where students confidently displayed their mathematical models and explained concepts, applications, and real-life relevance to teachers and peers. Director Madam Ms Shashi Tyagi appreciated and motivated the learning and conveyed the message that Mathematics is not only about numbers but also about creativity, logic, and practical application in daily life. HOS Ma’am applauded the  teachers and students for their enthusiastic participation and their dedicated efforts making the day more meaningful and memorable.
